Girls in Tech Author Series Presents The "To Do List" List Slam With Sasha Cagen

See what other girls in tech are to-doing. . . Join List Queen Sasha Cagen for a Girls in Tech List Slam. Sasha Cagen is author of To-Do List: From Buying Milk to Finding a Soul Mate, What Our Lists Reveal About Us (Simon & Schuster). Recently featured on Talk of the Nation, To-Do List is a fascinating look at our obsession with lists, goals, and the notes we write to ourselves. For more info, check Sasha's blog http://www.todolistblog.com

Sasha will talk about what she's learned by collecting more than 5,000 lists and answer questions about book publishing.

The event will also be a List Slam. Bring a list to read as part of the list slam (think poetry slam but instead of poems we'll read lists). This will be a fun, low-pressure event, you'll just share your list and a bit about your state when you wrote it.

Our lists are very revealing, so it will be a great way to get to know other women (and men) in technology.

Sasha Cagen: BIO

Sasha Cagen is an author and entrepreneur. Her latest book To-Do List: From Buying Milk to Finding A Soulmate, What Our Lists Reveal About Us is an interactive look at our obsession with listmaking (Simon & Schuster, November 2007).  Her first book Quirkyalone: A Manifesto for Uncompromising Romantics (Harper San Francisco, 2004), is a singles manifesto for a new generation. The book spawned a holiday, International Quirkyalone Day (Feb. 14), a growing alternative to Valentine's Day that celebrates all forms of love, and a website, quirkyalone.net. Sasha is also co-founder of StyleMob.com, a new fashion community where people give and get style advice and vote on the best looks of the day.

Girls in Tech

Created in February of 2007, Girls in Tech was founded by technology marketing and PR maven Adriana Gascoigne. GIT was born to further support girls in an industry that, traditionally, has been primarily, well, mostly full of guys. GIT believes that we'd all be better off by developing better resources, cultivating stronger relationships and celebrating our achievements more often. Girls in Tech is an organization which caters to intelligent, professional, and influential young women working in the technology industry. The organization is a membership driven group, which aims to provide tools and information to empower, encourage innovation, inspiration and involvement among its members, while seeking to collaborate with like-minded men in the industry. Girls in Tech offers a variety of resources to women to supplement and further enhance their professional careers in technology. Some of these resources include networking functions, round table discussions, conferences, dinner engagements, and recruitment events.
